Ok, the quest to loose weight at work is not working that well!  People keep bringing in treats!  Add the fact that at least 3 departments have had catered lunches.  I am not sure about all "you" at there, but I am the one who goes out to the local deli, or restuarant and picks up the lunch.  It is easy to agree to when they the boss says "include yourself for a sandwich."  I have been good on stretching!  Every time I get a drink of water or coffee I do some side bends.   I was thinking of getting one of the cycle machine and putting it under my desk.  I keep trying.  I look at myself in the mirror and wonder why can't I be one of those people who carry their weight all over.  If it gets added I carry it around the stomach.  30 pounds doesnt seem like much but to me it is 30 pounds on the tummy (ok not that bad, but I am sure those can relate)   As for the job and the admin field, it is the normal day to day job.  Nothing special lately.  I didn't get recognized at all for Administrative Professionals week or day.  Not even from a co worker.  I hope everyone out there had a better week then I did.   I actually felt a bit offended but it is what it is. 

Oh well, that is it for my update, I will try to do more during the day, getting some of the pushups, leg lifts and report how I am doing.  Blog in a day or two!  Have a great week!

Friday I drank my 64 oz's of water and stayed under 1200 calories for the day!  My boss was out of the office, so you would think it would have been a quiet day.  It was!  I was able to finish some reports that have pending, go to my bosses desk and organize it and just have a relatively stree free day!  There are some days things go right, this was one of them.  One of the exercises I am going to try and do during the day are partial push ups.  When in the kitchen I go to the acounter (when no one is around!)  put my arms on it and feet out and using my arms and upper back, do 2 to 3 sets of 10 push ups.  So far, I havent been seen :-) but if I am I will say.. hey.. an easy way to get in shape while waiting for my coffee to brew!    Monday are back to back meetings, so we will see. 

So it is time to make my first update.  Since Monday, each day has been a FAILURE in trying to loose weight or be good even!  On Monday, my boss came frantic because he said I booked the wrong flights for an upcoming flight.   Lucikly I had the email were HE said, yes book this.  But still, it was once hetic day canceling reservations, looking up and booking new ones.  It seemed everyone had some type of issue that I had to deal with.  Phones didn't work, help needed creating a presentation.  I didn't even take lunch!  The next two days were the same.  Work through lunch to get work done. 

Going to start tomorrow.  Tomorrow I am going to at least drink my water!    Oh wait, on Monday I took 4 extra flights of stairs!  It wasnt that bad!

Hi everyone, I am an executive assistant  to the CEO of a mid size company.  Like many of you, (or I assume).  I don't get enough exercise and have gained a few pounds.  For me it is 30 to 40 pounds.  I am 5' 1" so that looks like more than someone is 5" 8"   I need to lose 30 (I think the 40 would be nice, but not needed... maybe 35!  I thought I would blog my experience for accountablity and feedback.  I have MyFitness Pal, and I have a Fitbit, but thought DeskDemon'd blog and do the same but anonymously!  Plus it has the advantage of people who know the same challengeds.  How the boss will go "pick up my lunch" and then your lunch hour is gone!  No my name is not Pinky, nor Doodles!  (it is hard to think up log ons!)

Anyway, to hold myself accountable and to see the progress I am going to blog how things go here on DeskDemon.  Maybe I can help someone or they can help motivate me by reading this!

Tomorrow morning my journey starts.  I will weigh myself first thing in the morning.  Put on the Fitbit and try to do little things through out the day.  I am going to try to drink my water, not snack to much and see if I can ..incorporate strength training into my day.   I have a page full of exercise apps on my phone and will see which ones I can do.  Ok it wont be a work out all at one time, but hopefully they will make a difference.

So... tomorrow I start!  Blog again at the end of the day!
