What is the UK inflation
rate and why is it so high?
The rate at which prices
rising remained unchanged
at 6.7% in the year to
September compared with
August.
Slowing food inflation on
items such as milk, cheese
and eggs were offset by
fuel prices rising sharply,
hitting drivers at the
pumps.
In a bid to slow inflation,
the Bank of England has
increased interest rates to
5.25%, but held rates at its
last meeting.
