In August 2007, DeskDemon launched a year long award program that acknowledge and rewards the accomplishments of those who support and keep companies running smooth. The viewer’s voted Emily Robe of Ashtead Plant Hire Company the first winner.
Emily Robe
Emily is a PA and provides administrative support in a number of areas as well
as coordinating reports for the directors of five separate business divisions.
This varied role, upon which a number of people depend, requires exemplary multi-tasking
skills, as well as a solid understanding of each department and the business
overall. Deadlines are demanding and Emily has been known to come in on the
(infrequent) days she’s been ill to attend to urgent issues.
A “strong and committed person” according to a colleague, Emily
has also helped to redesign and prepare, with little guidance, a number of reports
and spreadsheets that are used to manage the business and monitor its performance
against objectives. She has also, on her own initiative, tracked the performance
of a number of business systems and put together ways to improve and standardize
them.
The goal of the Management Fellowship Support Award Program is to acknowledge, recognise, reward and promote a network of knowledge of each individual story.
