The interactive event is designed to appeal to all meeting professionals, and will explore event technology integration, sustainability advantages and the added value in overcoming the barriers in new technologies. The guest speakers will dissect the technology that is driving the modern meeting and events industry, and technology which will shape its future.

Featured speakers include Peter Vlachos (principal lecturer and programme leader of MA Events Management at Greenwich University), Toby Beresford (CEO of Leader Boarded - social media gaming for events) and Jon Brigden, Founder and Managing Director of Knife Edge, augmented reality solutions for events.

Lisa Owen, vice president of communications, MPI UK and Ireland Chapter, comments: “MPI’s aim is to support the education of our members, and today’s competitive and changing environment demands that people must have increased knowledge on advances in technology. Generation Y is an influential audience and makes up a large proportion of the new industry workforce and has grown up surrounded by evolving technologies which they expect as standard at events they attend. The aim of our education event is to help industry professions increase their understanding of event technology through hands on demonstrations. The seminar will help members be more aware of what the future holds and they can make the most effective use of evolving technologies in an event or meeting environment.”

The event is just one of a portfolio of quality education events that MPI UK and Ireland Chapter has planned in the coming months. Other events include:

·         MPI Annual CSR Corporate and Agency Planner Forums (December 2012 in London and Manchester): Chair and MPI International Board member Fiona Pelham will share sustainability insights from this year's key event.
