Eurostar has put on 20 extra trains during August to meet extra demand for seats to Paris.

Tickets for the additional services - four each weekend making an additional 15,000 seats - are priced at ?69 return.

Eurostar admitted the rise in demand was partly due to the ash crisis, but it claimed it also reflected an increase in the business market and a strengthening of business and leisure travel.
