The jobs market for secretarial and support professionals is sill buoyant and organisations are continuing to hire, according to the latest Market Update from Robert Walters.
The report also reveals that some companies have relaxed previously strict hiring requirements in order to secure high calibre people during the quarter. There was continued demand for PAs, team secretaries, office management staff, administration assistants and receptionists.
Julie-Anne Page, Associate Director of Robert Walters’ secretarial and support division, commented: “Within commercial businesses, there was demand for team secretaries, office management staff, administration assistants, receptionists and support staff with European language skills. Encouragingly for those looking for a permanent job, businesses were becoming less stringent in their hiring requirements, putting more emphasis on hiring people with the right personality fit rather than specific industry experience.”
”Hiring levels in financial services did not fall during the traditionally quiet summer period, which was encouraging. There was strong demand for team secretaries, specifically with IBD and trading floor experience, for both temporary and permanent positions. Demand for PAs remained stable, although most of these positions required a professional who could support at least two people and, in some cases, small teams.”
