Managers often want their PAs or secretaries to be mind readers. This is impossible, but admin staff can be proactive and look ahead. Take ten minutes out of your day to look at upcoming projects and events and think about what they will require to go ahead or be a success. Do the research and see if you can predict and take care of some of the details beforehand. Have forms filled out in advance. If planning for a catered meeting, have some menu ideas before your manager asks.
