I'm not a fan of makeover shows per se, but get very ticked off if I miss Queer Eye For The Straight Guy.  I think it's something to do with Kyan, the grooming guy, who is just ...... sighhhhhhhh

(goes off for a cold shower and a little lay down to recover)

Can't think of any real favourites, but QI (Quite Interesting) with Stephen Fry is coming back shortly, and that's always worth watching.  I do like quiz shows, but I do like to have my brain tested!  Mastermind and University Challenge come to mind.

Am thoroughly bewildered by, but fairly keen on, Lost, which is coming to the end of its second series in the UK.

Oh, I almost forgot... Dr. Who.  The new stuff.  We're a year behind in the US, but I've really enjoyed it.

My favorite shows are Criminal Minds, Bones and CSI.

The only reality show I have watched for some time is Survivor; however this season I only watched the first show.  Reality shows are a personal choice, I believe if it is something you are interested in like the dancing or treasure hunting you would watch those reality shows.

In our house we do watch some nature shows, shows on from the Discovery channels and the history channel.  They are all have some really informative and interesting shows.

My favourites are also American tv shows: I love The Sopranos and The West Wing.  Fave comedy is Curb Your Enthusiasm and Seinfeld.  I also used to love Northern Exposure when it was on tv.  I've been rewatching them recently on dvd and they are still as good as ever.

Ok L & O fans,

I'd be very interested to see what you think of the two new characters.  For me, the jury is still out (hee hee, couldn't resist) on the new lawyer, but I do like the new officer, "Det. Beauty Queen". The dynamic between her and Greene and Lieu is going to be very interesting to watch considering her character is so inexperienced and her being unwanted in the squad.

Also, did anyone notice that her name is the same as Leiu's?  Two Anitas.  That goes with the three Alexandra's they've had: Alexandra Cabot on SVU, Alexandra Eames on CI and Alexandra Borgia last season.

And for those of you who may have missed it, Shark premiered last week and seems to have some promise.  But then I've always like crime dramas.

I like, in no particular order of preference:

Historical movies
Aaptations of novels (e.g. Pride and Prejudice - but it depends on the actors and the script)
Crime dramas, especially Inspector Morse, Wexford and Midsomer Murders
Nature programmes
West Wing
The Apprentice
Star Trek

Wow...  hadn't thought of Alien Nation is quite sometime.  Really liked that show, which was surprise cause most 'sci fi' shows don't do it for me.  However...hehehe... when my son was born, I swore he belonged on Alien Nation (thanks to vacuum suction deforming the shape of his head... but it went back to 'normal' after a bit).  Smiley

For me

Grey's Anatomy (sigh... McDreamy...)
Medium
Who's Line is It (prefer American to BBC)
CSI (original only)
Forensic Files
Cold Case Files (the one that's on Court tv... not network)

Reality Shows:  Will watch Apprentice, Hell's Kitchen, The Next FoodNetwork Star... and will watch American Idol though not every episode.

For the new shows this season...
We're giving 'Studio 60' a try - we loved West Wing... not quite sure if it's going to pan out for us - first show seemed iffy.  I fell asleep last night before it came on, so will have to see what DH thought of it.

The Class... seems like it has potential.  My kidlet (who's 9) was watching it with me - and the adult humor was above her head enough that she didn't catch on to anything I'd have to do some explaining for!

DH likes MythBusters, Overhaul, American Chopper, and any war movie around.

We watch alot of FoodNetwork TV too.... Rachel Ray, Alton Brown, Iron Chef America.

Arggggh... forgot about Bones,     although I am a James Marsters lover, I do admit that David did look a bit tasty in Bones.

It was really funny to hear James talking in an american accent, I must admit - for a long time I thought he was English as the accent is pretty good... According to his website he will be co-lead in a new film called PS I Love You - can't wait for that, his music is pretty good as well.

I can remember Giles being in Coffee commercials for Gold Blend, but that may have just been in the UK.  I can't quite get my head round the fact that he is also the Prime Minister in Little Britain.

Oh yeah Food  Network, how can I forget, love Alton Brown, Emeril Lagasse, Rachel Ray,and the one who got me initially hooked on the program, Sara Moulton.  Good stuff, and you learn alot of helpful tips. Unfortunatley I think I gain 10 pounds every time I watch.

I don't like the latest adapation of Jane Eyre.  However, there has only been one episode, so it may improve as the story goes on.

I have read Jane Eyre many times and know the background to the story - much of the book is based on Charlotte Bronte's own experiences as well as histories and legends in her locality.  I've seen several different productions, but I still prefer Timothy Dalton and Zelah Clarke (also a BBC production) as Mr Rochester and Jane.  It was very true to the written story.

Every director films books from a different angle and so the viewer experiences different aspects of the story.  I didn't, for example, appreciate the last BBC adaptation of Pride and Prejudice.  Alison Steadman, who acted the part of Mrs Bennett, was rather shrewish and vulgar, instead of the slightly twittery, but very ladylike, Mrs Bennett that Jane Austen described.   On the other hand, I know lots of people simply swooned over the actor who played the part of Mr Darcy.

Ah but did you see the first and best adaptation of Pride & Prejudice with David Rintoul as Mr Darcy - far, far more handsome than Peter Firth by a mile!

Oh yes!  I have it on video, too.  And Elizabeth Garvie was the perfect Elizabeth.
