2012 economy and how it is affecting your office?

Our company is struggling, I was wondering how other peoples companies are doing and if you think 2012 will be another recession type year. I thought the economy was supposed to be getting better, for my company it is getting worse. There are rumors of letting people go right after the new year. How is it for other companies out there?

Our company depends on federal government spending, so being an election year on top of all the shenanigans taking place in the US Congress, I don't feel like it will be a very good year at all. Only time will tell.
I believe in being prepared for a job search at all times. It's one of the primary reasons I make sure my resume, skills, and certifications are always up to date.

Well if you have read my postings lately you will know we have already gone down the voluntary redundancy route in the past month.
We have no idea how 2012 is looking at the moment but fingers crossed.
