My company is fairly supportive of that sort of situation. In general, they do seem to care about their employees. However, they also don't want to incur any lawsuits from things like working an employee harder when a dioctor has put them on light duty or having a larger worker's compensation claim or HEAVEN FORBID, having to report an incident to the Federal Government that we work under. (Always the pragmatic side to compassion, isn't there?).
