Happiness in Job

Are you happy in your job or is a means to pay the bills? Most people want to be happy, and many love being PAs or EAs but something is missing. Hopefully you are one of those who truly love their job, if you are, let us know!

I had to pause and think about this. Am I truly happy? For the most part yes, I'm in my chosen profession, working with people I respect and from whom I can learn. Would I like to win the lottery and be on a beach or in Paris - Sure! But for now I'll go back to work!

Yes, I am quite happy in my job. That does not mean that I am not open to bigger opportunities, but I am content and learning every day.

Yes, I am very happy in my chosen career and my place of employment. I am appreciated, valued, and respected. Couldn't ask for anything more.

I'm mostly happy but would prefer to find a position with more challenge (different types of challenges to what I have now). I'm actually fairly bored, but for the moment, the job suits my larger life purpose.

I'm happy with my job. Of course there are bad days when I want to punch my boss or coworkers (haven't done it yet, keep your fingers crossed for me
), but in general I am happy. I like what I do, get along fairly well with my coworkers, my boss is a handful but I have learned to adjust and work well with him and I am very well compensated.

I like Claudiamag's answer! I can but wont complain about compensation, but besides that the job fits my personality and I enjoy it!

I have worked for large corporations and small business offices. I can honestly say what a journey it has been. This is the longest employment I have had going on 9 years. I love my job because it has became my family. We text on weekends, we share humor, and there is a genuine need for each of us to succeed. We are the department that strives to model after us. I love my job and the pay does help. The pay comes in second.

I have been in my current job for one year today. Started out loving it, no drama, great people, good money, inspired every day. Now, drama everywhere, no direction from Boss, lacks leadership skills, company changes all the time, so for now, just biding my time, trying to be productive, but on the lookout for something more challenging, more opportunity to grow.

Mostly happy. However, with changes in the company culture since a merger, and my boss of a long time retiring, I find myself not as enthused as I was a couple of years ago, and earlier in my career as an EA. I like my bosses, respect them, and learn from them. But adjusting to change is never easy I guess.
