If you would like to read more books but can't afford to buy them, check out archive.org and do a search for your book. Depending on how old it is, it may be available to you as a free pdf file. They have archives of over 75,000 books available in PDF and text versions which you can read from your computer or download to a laptop or cell phone or whereever (depending on your hardware of course).

They aggregate electronic books from across the web, such as with the Project Gutenberg and the Perseus Project - academic attempts to essentially build the world's largest public library online.

Naturally you are more likely to find a classic of literature than a current NY Times bestseller. Still it's a wonderful resource.

Wow, that site has more then just books. It is going to take a while to check out all the options on that site. Thanks for the heads up on the site.
