To add a watermark to your document, you must display your document in either Print Layout or Normal View.
- From the Format menu, select Background and then Printed Watermark
- In the Printed Watermark dialog box, click the radio button beside Picture Watermark
- When you click the Select Picture button a dialog box will open that will allow you to browse your hard drive for the picture you want to use. When you find it, simply click Insert
- You can use the drop down box beside the Scale label to change the size of the picture (it is specified as a percentage of the size of the original picture), although it is probably best to let Word auto scale the picture for you
- It is also best to leave the box next to Washout checked so the watermark does not interfere with the readability of the document
- Click Apply
- Click OK
Your picture will be inserted as a watermark in your document and will show on the screen when you're editing your document.
