ScanSnap - Case Studies
Want a CONVENIENT way to carry business cards.
Case Study 6
When I return from business trips I often carry business cards from my meetings and contacts. Often I will enter this information by hand into my contact management application.
ScanSnap includes CardMinder, an application designed to capture images and information contained on either side of a business card. This information is fed directly into a database and can be linked with popular contact management (CRM) tools including Outlook, ACT!, and Goldmine. ScanSnap's multi-page, duplex, and color capabilities allows you to scan stacks of business cards, greatly reducing time spent inputting contact information manually.

Case Study 7
When faxing documents I cannot truly represent the look of the original, especially if the original has color graphics and text. Color brochures and other marketing collateral sent to customers by fax is converted to a low-quality, black and white image. The effect is totally lost and it makes a bad impression with our customers.
Because ScanSnap supports color it is able to recreate the fidelity of the original. And because the image is stored in PDF format you can rest assured that your customer will be able to quickly and easily open, view, and even print the contents if they wish, regardless of operating platform.

Case Study 8
Some of our international customers are requesting that we send estimates and other formal correspondence via fax or e-mail. Using fax can be expensive, and sending sensitive information in the body of an e-mail message is inappropriate and can lead to omissions and errors.
You can minimize miscommunications by scanning estimates and other formal communications with "ScanSnap" and send them as an attachment to an e-mail message. E-mail is economical and the security functions supported by PDF through Adobe Acrobat 5.0 format allow you to keep information safe and confidential.

Case Study 9
I prefer to search for files visually by opening folders by opening and browsing though folders on my PC. MS Windows makes this easier by providing thumbnails images of files displayed through the Windows Explorer. However, I have noticed that PDF files do not display as thumbnail images in MS Windows.
Being able to visually search images in a folder is critical to successful every day use. PDF image files created by ScanSnap are visible as "thumbnails" through the Windows Explorer. You can freely browse thumbnails as you would any other file stored in the without needing to launch the application.
