We like new hotels at Deskdemon. We really do. After all, reviewing new hotels give us the opportunity to find out what's new and exciting in the world of business travel/accommodation. We particularly like it when we get a surprise while reviewing a new offering.
We were both surprised and delighted when we got word of the new Days Inn located in Dundee.
Days Inn not posh enough for your boss? Think again O keeper of the business travel flame. Not only is the new Days Inn Dundee fully remodelled and fresh as Devon cream, it's got everything you'd want in business related accoutrements.
All rooms are en suite with power shower, hairdryer, tea/coffee tray and colour satellite TV. In addition rooms feature super king size or twin beds, radio, direct dial telephone with wake up system and all the other features you'd expect to find for far more price.
Even better, walk in the front door of Days Inn Dundee and notice something
unique if you're carrying a Palm, pocket PC or other bit of wireless kit.
It makes the happy sound to tell you it can connect. The whole place is one large wireless hot spot, which means no pricey extra connections when you get your employer to his room and he wants to check the details of the MegaCorp merger. Of course, each room has a phone and modem point in case you've left the palm behind and have only limited connectablity.
Further, for those of you who are still worried that Days Inn isn't posh
enough for your employer, think again. Since Days Inn came to the UK in 1998
after a successful long term US run, the entire chain has focused on the business
traveller with enhanced business services, in room deskspace and plenty of
space to stretch out and make a few calls.
In
fact Robert Robertson, one of the proprietors of Days Inn Dundee told me "I
thought a great deal about what the business traveller wanted and having been
one myself, I knew that a good size room, with modern amenities and a helpful
flexible staff are what make the difference between chaos and calm when it
comes to a business trip."
Days Inn is one of the few chains where you'll get consistency in the way staff is trained, rooms are laid out and mentality is well oriented to the business traveller.
Couple that with insanely inexpensive rates (42.95 at the Days Inn Dundee) proximity to the city Centre, the airport and a few world class golf courses (in case there's some downtime) and ask yourself as the PA booking business travel in your company...
What's it worth to have all the employer's needs met AND stay in budget?
We think lots. You might too.
