Title: Self appraisal form
Post by: sammix on June 19, 2009, 05:24:36 pm
I'm in the process of completing the IPA self appraisal form and the following is one of the questions to answer:

Write a list of all your day to day responsibilities. For each, describe how you know you’ve done a good job i.e. how are you measured?

Quite an easy question, you'd think, but I'm struggling and wonder if anyone can assist?  I've come up with the "usual suspects" i.e. diary management, service meetings, travel arrangements etc.  When trying to put this down on paper it's not that easy (well not to me any way).

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Andrea

You have made a good start.

If you have a desk manual, go through it to determine your daily work assignments.  Determine your success with each by thinking about how effective your work has been.  For instance, with calendar management, has your boss been on time for meetings?  Is there enough room in between meetings to get work done and prepare for other events?  Has he made any comments about this aspect of your work?

Let us know if you need more detailed work descriptions.

Thanks movinonup.  Whilst I don't have a desk manual, it has triggered off a thought about managing not only my email in box, but his as well.  I suppose if I thought about it logically, I could write down each task as I did it and build from there.

Thanks again.
