Voicemail messages are not the most interesting things, but at least one may leave a message and hope that someone will get back at some point. I phoned a (senior) admin in another company and heard the following message "This is so-and-so's voicemail. It's clear I'm not here so leave a message and I'll get back to you".
To the point, but not the most inviting of messages!

LOL I *love* that message!!! I note that it's from a senior admin, though - one wonders what might be said if it was on a junior admin's phone??

Perhaps you could have left a message like "It's clear I want to speak with you, so get back to me at ...phone number" !!
