Title: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: gee4 on November 09, 2004, 03:22:21 pm Well yesterday my job was advertised on the intranet yet still I have had no update as to what is happening with me, as I continue to juggle my workload and bosses.
I am due to have a 1:1 with my supervisor on Thur as I am told she now has all the info following a conf call with managers yesterday. Let's hope this is resolved soon. G Title: Re: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: msmarieh on November 09, 2004, 04:25:03 pm Well unfortunately an advertisement is pretty clear. Why wait until thursday for the meeting? Can't you get in sooner, since she has the info?
Marie Title: Re: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: gee4 on November 09, 2004, 04:30:32 pm I agree. This person has to travel up from Dublin - at the end of the day managers suit themselves. It has all been handled completely inappropriately and once again there has been no thought or concern for me since I have found out all that is going on in the background.
G Title: Re: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: gee4 on November 11, 2004, 01:47:57 pm Well - here is the story.
My line manager is now pushing for an end date so I can return to my role before I took on this extra manager's work - he will be livid - but it's for my own sanity and that of the people I have been working for. Not that there has been any change in my attitude or that I have refused to carry out any tasks, or complained out loud, but just for the fact that some tasks which are longer term, have been left by the wayside and not addressed. It also means once the guy gets his headcount for a PA, I can still apply for it if I wish but it means I am under no pressure now to "perform" for him. After all it was only supposed to be a favour for the summer. G PS. Thanks for reading and listening - ![]() Title: Re: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: sobriquetnic on November 11, 2004, 06:36:16 pm Hi G
Glad it has reached some kind of resolution for you - it all must have been very unsettling. Hang on in there! All the best, Nicola. Title: Re: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: gee4 on November 12, 2004, 12:40:23 pm I do feel happier, however have been reduced to tears this morning by this demanding person who has sent me an email in caps, saying NO MORE MAILS until a, b and c is sorted. I have cc'd my line manager and have told her this is totally unacceptable behaviour and I will not take any more. Not only that but it is childish of him to act like this. I had only agreed to be his PA as a favour. I no longer feel the need to reply to his emails nor set up any more meetings but I am professional and so will do what I can. (I only wish he'd read the email on my current boss taking me back).
Thank heaven's it is Friday. G Title: Re: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: sobriquetnic on November 12, 2004, 03:01:59 pm Hi G
I'm so sorry to hear about your bad morning - emails in caps are just so rude. Not long now and you can forget about them all for a couple of days. All the best and take care, Nicola. Title: Re: How would you feel if ... RESOLUTION? Post by: sburks on November 12, 2004, 05:39:07 pm I hope things worked out for you. Last March, I was "restructured" out of a job that I held for 6 years. After 4 months of searching and temping, I found a job at a university. 11 days after I was hired, the two bosses that hired me were asked to resign, and that has left me wondering where I stand. I began night school and I'm trying to concentrate on learning as much as I can to try to stay in line with the job market. Even with computer skills, it's very tough finding permanent jobs.

Thanks all - have a good weekend. G |
