Title: Will we ever see BTU?

I was really looking forward to this part of DeskDemon and have tried to be very understanding of the delays. However, BTU's page still says early March, 2003 and here we are two days from May. I have had to eat crow on this issue with my boss after talking it up and am very embarassed that I even mentioned it to him.
What gives folks? Many in the US expressed concern over how long it took to update the US page - and from the impression I got (and my view as well) feel like the "redheaded stepchild" of DeskDemon. Will BTU actually happen or is it going to end up falling to the wayside like some of the other areas on DeskDemon?

BTU is still in progress. That's the trouble with creating your own software - it always takes much longer than it should because of problems. The reason it's new software is because nothing else out there would do what admins and secretaries want. And the keyword for this project has been "good" rather than "fast". If anything breaks when you're halfway through a course it would be awful, especially if you were to lose work, so it's got to be right before it gets put out there.
However, the bits that are being worked on now are to do with deployment (technical bits to do with servers). The teaching films have already been done but no one can see them until they can be deployed. I was lucky enough to see one of the films, so I know that they are already to go.
I'm really sorry that this has caused you problems with your boss. I caught Andrea between meetings and she asked me to post and tell you that she's really sorry to keep you all waiting as well and that if there was anything she could do to deliver BTU, she'd be off doing it - but it's all down to the techies now. Andrea also said to ask you all to bear with us, as BTU should be really good once it gets going.
