Title: Company Quiz Night Post by: peana on April 24, 2003, 11:55:09 am Help! I'm trying to find a venue in the city of London for a company quiz night.
I organised one recently for about 40 people which was a great success, and now have been asked to repeat the performance for about 100 people. The venue we used previously is far too small, so I'm trying to find a pub or restaurant that could host such an event, but without charging the earth! We had a buffet for £5/head, but most of the larger venues I have approached are at least 2-3 times more expensive, or want to charge hire costs. Another problem is seating - some places have room for us, but don't physically have enough tables or chairs (I don't want to get involved in hiring equipment for the night). Alternatively, they might have all the facilities and equipment we need, but the layout isn't condusive to the event (tables stuck round corners, behind screens, etc.). Something that should have been very simple is slowly becoming a bit of a headache! Anyone have any ideas? We find them ethical, quick and useful as well as taking budegtary constraints into account.
Have a look at the online form which you can access by clicking here http://www.deskdemon.com/pages/conceptconf. or give susan a call directly and tell her we sent you. Let us know how it works out! Everyone divides up into teams of about 4 people and has to answer themed rounds (e.g. history, sport, trivia, etc.). You can play one 'joker' which doubles the points from that round, but it has to be played before the round starts and you don't actually know what the theme might be, having to guess from the title e.g. you have to decide if you think 'The King is Dead' will be a history or music round (or something else altogether)!
The last quiz night got very competitive, but was really good fun (I would say that - my team won)! |
