Title: To worry or not to worry? Post by: annabelee on January 06, 2003, 06:16:39 pm Just found out this morning...after being on vacation for two weeks, bossie is moving to another position within the company. I'm worried about the future of my position here. You see, the other admin. left last week and there is no talk about a replacement. Bossie cannot take me to the new department. I'm sad because bossie's leaving, but also worried now about my future because when people leave this deptartment the position usually does not get filled. Now that bossie is leaving, will my position be vacated? Not a great way to start a Monday!

Explain that while you love working for your company and them, you are a little bit concerned about your role there after they leave to go to the new department. Ask them what you can do to help solidify your postion in the company after they are gone.

If you were in his shoes, you would naturally be expecting the person in your position to approach Bossie on this subject. I hope it all works out OK. My original bossie left a while ago now, and current Bossie is great to work for, so good luck! Regards, Debbie Title: Re: To worry or not to worry? Also, just to be on the safe side, get that resume ready to roll just in case. Chris68 Peer Moderator ![]() Title: Re: To worry or not to worry? Post by: annabelee on January 07, 2003, 12:28:39 am I've worked on that one, and applied for several internal (and a few external) positions in the company. I have been assured that my position is in no way in jeopardy, but I want to be safe, in the event that the new incoming bossie is intent on bringing their own admin. with them, (this does seem to happen a lot these days) I don't want to be caught unawares. i do have a degree of relief, but I have not let out that huge sigh of relief just yet. Thanks for the words of encouragement.
