I dont believe you unregister... you just stop posting.  Since no-one e-mails things because of your registration, it's not necessary.  But please do let us know why you're leaving us, as we use that info to improve.

Mrsbean, what were you hoping to get out of DD?  There is a lot of useful information on this site if you take the time to really search it.  The forums are quiet at the moment but this is the holiday season.  I have found information on this site which has proved very valuable to me and has helped me greatly in my job.  Please, give DD more time and look around the site.

We are an interactive site, but a global one, which means our users ebb and flo with the various holidays in the various countries.  And the summer months tend to be a slower time, in my opinion, having been a moderator for several years now.  We also have a number of folks who may respond to threads others initiate, but may not initiate any themselves.  If you are finding it slow, you may want to go into the Admin Cafe and start a thread and see what kind of responses or interactions you get.  As we are (mostly) all working admins, it is not a gabby forum, but we do try to respond to any posting in as timely a manner as possible and keep things moving.

Do let us know what you were expecting from this site, and specifically from the forum boards, so that we may know where we may need to improve.

When I look in and see no new posting for two days...

I came in here to write with others in English. My secretarial knowhow is excellant. I thought, in a worldwide community there would be more girls to talk to. Since that isn't the case here, I would like my nick removed from the board.  
Some admin should be able to do that.

Msbean,  please keep in mind that this is a global community and here in the US it has been a holiday week last week and the month of July is traditionally when lots of families take off on vaction, myself included.  Please be patient with us as things start to move towards our regular volume as it gets closer to the Fall.  

Right now things are very slow and they usually do drop off in the Summer time and again around the holidays in December.  There is usually someone around to talk with if help is needed immediatley, but the forums do have their traditional down times.

I would certainly consider giving it a couple of more weeks when things start to slowly pick back up as we move into the Fall.  If after that timeframe you still feel the same way, then we can certainly fullfill your request.

I registered here some time ago, and I can confirm from my own experience that there are times when there "doesn't seem to be anyone" posting much here.  It just goes in fits and starts.  

The forums (OK, I know ... the Latinists will be after me ... the plural of forum should be "fora") are not the only part of the website, and, although I am a very experienced administrator I generally find something new on the website.

Don't forget you also have the option of PMing people - feel free to pm me any time!  Truth be told I would love the distraction from absent and/or in annoying bosses who think I don't have enough to do without taking on everyone else's workload as well (and yes I do manage to do it all in a fraction of the time and leave time to check in here!)

There is usually a minimum of one posting per day in one forum or another, not necessarily in a particular forum.  It's a good idea to read them all - you never know when a question/answer in the Software Forum might help you out!!!

But I agree with everyone else, it is quiet just now, but we must bear in mind it's likely to be now until September when everything starts up again.  That's not to say we're not here, but we maybe have other priorities.

Well, I guess this forum never had so many new entries in one week since I opened this thread.

Well, lets see, what other topics can get you to write...

For info, and correct me if I'm wrong, the majority of us check into this forum during work time.  Therefore depending on how busy we are, depends on how much we post and reply.  Personally I have learnt lots here as well as helping out others.  If I have nothing to contribute, I enjoy reading the other postings which I do on a daily basis.

So sorry you want to leave.

MrsBean... you may also note that certain Forums get more responses/discussions than others.  This is because our users normally have their favorite forums to check, based on the topics that will be covered in them, personal interests, and where they're checking from.  For instance, most of our regulars tend not to check out Topical Climates, as the topics in here tend to be more controversial.  For more typical water cooler-type discussions, we use Admin Cafe, and most of our users check in there at some point during their day.  Admins 4 Admins is the forum that is checked strictly from work for some users, or only checked by those who have questions relating to the work place and who care nothing for more trivial discussions.  Likewise, Software Survival is the forum that is checked by those who have an understanding of computer software and are willing and/or able to answer questions or those who have questions to ask.  Not a lot of every-day type of use in that forum, until the questions start flying.

Therefore, if you're really wanting to see some discussions and get some interaction with folks, then post your thread in the correct forum and you'll have better luck.  And still, as always, be patient, as we're in different time zones and different work environments and may not always have the time and/or ability to respond as quickly or completely as we'd like.  I hope to see more posts from you in the future...

I just wanted to say that I am not here very often. I am even a bit ashamed because I must admit that mostly I just look in here when I need help with some translation. But I have to say that whenever I posted I always got kind answers.

Mrs Bean,  its up to all users to make a forum live. So its up to you as well as the others. If everybody is just waiting for somebody else to start a discussion nothing will happen. And you can start this just as well as anybody else ( as you can see in the response in this thread.
