With the recent corporate scandals, the CIPD has done a survey with fascinating results (see link). How do you feel about your company? What about your boss? Has the way you feel about your boss/management/company changed since you first started your job?

Does the deafening sound of silence and nobody posting on this topic, make you think that nobody is willing to put in print what we feel in case we are identified?

This would be a great topic at a get together meeting to vent/let off steam - which is probably done in every day in offices all over but for obvious reasons, needs to be done in private.

Just my thoughts.

I do trust my boss and my employer.

At a previous company I did see mis-use of expenses for things like taxis - and it happened a lot. It wasn't my department and my boss didn't sign off these.

I think PAs can be put in very difficult situations - (Rebekah Brooks' PA).

We see a lot and have taken the vow of silence.

For the record, I too trust my boss and my company is very ethical and honest. I am actually glad to be working for such a company but in past companies, some people thought they could get away with things that were not really totally honest but guess all companies have this, it is just how they deal with such situations that matter.

Yes.  I trust my bosses.

I do not trust my boss in the kleast bit!  Actually I do trust her to look out for herself, lie to your face and change her mind when she feels like it.  What kills me, is I am not exaggerating, not disgruntled (yes unhappy) it is the general office consensus.  Hahaha I read my posts and I am turning into a negative nelly!   Must... I work for attorneys.

Those four words sound so glamourous.

This thread got me thinking about previous bosses - and I guess really, maybe I've been lucky, I've trusted them and the senior managers too. And I trust them until I see, read or witness something different.

Oh Becky - sorry your boss is like that! Bet you've got some stories to tell though  :)

I always like to see the best in people, so I work on the "I trust people unless proven otherwise".

I am lucky enough to be working for a great boss, although this has not always been the case.  I am now older and wiser too, so I would probably deal with an untrustworthy boss differently to in the past.

All I know is, trustworthy or not, we spend a lot of time with our bosses - so being miserable is not a good place to be.

Attorneys put their pants on the same way we do.  You won't get a straight answer from them.  For the most part I enjoy being a legal secretary, but glamerous no. 

Atlanta...I gotta say that those few words didn't sound glamorous to me.... they sounded dire.   Do you trust your bosses?...  Your response "I work for attorneys"....  Seemed to say it all to me.  :D  Perception being what it is, in my line of work we tend to not trust attorneys.  Others will read it and say "of course she does, they're attorneys".  :D  I personally really liked your non-response response.  :D  ;)

I agree with Atlanta.  Not glamorous at all (I too work for lawyers and barristers).  It just means you really need to get anything agreed in writing in clear all-inclusive words just so you can try to trust the beggars!  :D

In general, yes I trust my company and boss as far as being ethical.

However, that said, I don't trust my boss to look out for my best interests.

My bosses can sell ice to Eskimos.  However, they have never lied to me and look out for me.  I trust them.  My former boss, well she would lie and backstab with a blink of an eye.  I did not trust her.
