Title: National Election Today Post by: glow8490 on November 04, 2008, 02:25:15 pm My husband and I are traveling this week and were able to vote early in our state. My son was at the polls at 6:00 am when they opened and just finished at 8:00 am. I never remember it taking 2 hours to vote.
It's going to be a l-o-n-g election day. Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: diamondlady on November 04, 2008, 02:45:09 pm I haven't voted yet, I'll be going down this evening, so I expect to see some line. But since I live in a small rural town, I don't expect it to take hours and hours to vote.

I don't mind long lines and waiting, when in some countries there is violence around elections or sham elections. In my opinion, it's both a privilege and a duty to vote!
Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: msmarieh on November 04, 2008, 03:58:37 pm Hubby and I will vote tonight after work. My co-worker said she got through the line quickly, but she was there very close to when they first opened up and she was already number 200!
I am so thankful the day is finally here. Am sick to death of campaign ads! Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: diamondlady on November 04, 2008, 04:53:25 pm The advertisements will not disappear fast enough for me. And what will the news commentators talk about once things are done.

I knew the Irish guy would win in the end......O'bama! Now where did Palin say she was sending her clothes again...?! Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: peacelily54 on November 05, 2008, 01:25:29 pm Dear Gee - That is the very best! You made my morning. Good day to all!
Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: gee4 on November 05, 2008, 01:27:10 pm Aww, thanks. Just wanted to say we across the pond take interest too.
Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: Jackie G on November 05, 2008, 02:29:15 pm Very interesting, especially about the queues for voting. I have never had to wait to vote here - walk in, get my paper, go to the booth, mark it with an X and return it to the election officers. All done inside 5 minutes.

In NI we use schools as polling stations so interested to hear if same is done in the US. Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: msmarieh on November 05, 2008, 03:57:38 pm A blogger I read in Indianapolis waited in line about 3 hours Saturday to do early voting.
The polls were very busy for me yesterday, but there was no real line per se. Hubby and I were in and out fairly quick. Marie Title: Re: National Election Today Post by: diamondlady on November 05, 2008, 06:31:30 pm Well we now know who the next President will be, and wether we voted for him or not, he's our Commander in Chief and will support the next 4 years. Not sayin I agree with his politics, and I did not vote for him, but I'm with McCain,UNITY is a must.
